Kicking off the new year with Maddi and Logan’s rainy day but totally adorable engagement session in Durham, NC.
Maddi and Logan met at Liberty University which is my alma mater so it was fun reminiscing and chatting about the ginormous differences from when I was in school waaaaaaaay back when. As we walked around Duke, I asked them to share their love story and it’s pretty adorable.
It was a gorgeous Lynchburg day when Maddi’s friends conspired to go watch a group of guys play soccer. Logan was given a heads up that this gorgeous blond was coming to watch him play. I’m sure he played like Bekham as soon as he saw her sitting on the sidelines. Maddi is stunning and Logan agrees. They’ve been best friends ever since that day and completely inseparable.
Logan popped the question at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC and they’re getting married in June at a venue fit for a princess. She’s going all out for the Cinderella theme. Here’s a little of Maddi’s excitement in her own words:
“Logan knew I wanted to go to the Biltmore estates with him since we started dating. It was a dream of mine. For a gift he bought us tickets to go and I cried like a baby! Little did I know he had an entire engagement planned out for that day. When we arrived to the Biltmore he brought me past the bridge in the field and had a photographer waiting for him to get down on one knee. He also had my parents there and my best friend drive down for it because that was one of the most important things that I wanted. It was the most perfect engagement ever.”
She asked me for a castle like venue for engagement pictures and the closest option I could think of is one of my favorite, gothic locations, Duke University.
We decided to throw together an eclectic look to shake things up, so we threw her hair up and used a tulle skirt that I had.
Bright Leaf Square in Durham was perfect.
